This coming Saturday, September 15, 2007, is the day for the fourth annual Software Freedom Day Celebration. Software Freedom Day is a global, grassroots effort to educate the public about the importance of software freedom and the virtues and availability of Free (Libre) and Open Source Software.
A great interview with Mark Shuttleworth, Canonical founder, about Software Freedom Day is now available online at
- http://www.archive.org/details/Mark_Shuttleworth_SFD -
The fifteen minute interview is both thought-provoking and enlightening. An unemployed multi-millionaire at age twenty six, Mark discusses the free software movement, business paradigms, giving back and Ubuntu. His experience as a cosmonaut makes fascinating listening.
The interview is recommended for everyone, not just computer people. Mark is not only a geek but also an incredible visionary.
