[PALA-ERR] foray #1:PALA Electronic Resources Roundtable E-List

Good Morning, Hillary.

 

Life has been busy this week so I'm a bit late in testing our new list.

 

*Thank you* and everyone at your library who has helped to bring this
list to life.  

 

Before I announce it, can we edit the welcome message to define who and
what we are?    

 

Ex:  Welcome to the Pennsylvania Library Association's Electronic
Resources Roundtable e-list.  The purpose of this list is to provide
members of the roundtable a convenient way to communicate on topics of
interest to themselves and to the roundtable as a whole.

 

Also, is the list moderated?  If so who is our moderator?

 

Lastly, as much as I want everyone to be able to participate in our list
I want to create a benefit for belonging to our roundtable. I also
recognize that your library's generosity has a volume capacity.  ;-)
So, I would like to limit list membership to roundtable members only.
How might I go about doing that?  

 

Hmmmm....

 

I think that I will use my personal member distribution lists to
announce our e-list.  In the message I would like to thank you and your
library and include sign up instructions.  Please provide me with your
library's full name, again.   

 

At the same time, I will send a message through PAMAILALL announcing the
list for roundtable members.  In this message I will ask interested
members who do not/did not receive my private email to contact me.  This
will allow me to verify membership.

 

We'll see what happens.
